I’ve been a board-certified music therapist for years. I’ve worked with families. I’ve seen — over and over — what music can do that nothing else can. And when I became a parent, I did what I knew how to do: I wrote lullabies for my kids.
It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Those songs made me feel close to them. When the hard transitions came — the crib, a trip away from home, the week we stopped swaddling — having something familiar to anchor the routine made all the difference. They still request their songs. They love them.
But I also know most parents don’t have a recording studio or a music therapy degree. Drift is my attempt to give every parent what I was able to give mine — without the hours. A lullaby built around your baby, ready in minutes.
I built it from what I know as a musician and a therapist. But honestly? I built it from what I know as a dad.

Music therapy is a board-certified health profession. Drift was designed by a music therapist, and that training shapes everything about how it works — the questions, the structure, the care behind the process. But Drift is not a clinical service, and it isn’t a replacement for professional care.

Is the lullaby made with AI?
Yes — and we’re straightforward about that. The lyrics are generated by AI, the music is generated by AI. But the process that shapes it was designed by a human: a board-certified music therapist who thought carefully about what makes a lullaby feel personal and meaningful. The result is shaped from what you share — your baby’s name, your feelings, your words — not pulled from a shelf.
Is the song really unique to my child?
Yes. The lyrics are written fresh from your five answers — their name, your feeling, your wish, their world, your words. No two families answer the same way, so no two lullabies are the same. You can read the lyrics before anything is sung and adjust them until they feel right.
Why do some of the songs sound similar?
By design. Lullabies work because of consistency — slow tempo, soft instruments, a gentle voice. The melodies vary, the words are completely different, but the feeling is calm in every one. That’s not a limitation; it’s the whole point.
How long does it take?
About ten quiet minutes. Answering the questions takes five; the song itself is usually ready in two to three more. Many parents do it during a nap.
What if it doesn’t feel right?
You review the lyrics before anything is sung, and you can adjust or ask for a rewrite. After the song is created you’ll choose between two versions and keep the one that feels like them. And if something still doesn’t feel right after all that — write us at hello@driftlullabies.com. We’ll make it right.
What about my baby’s name and privacy?
Your song and your account are private by default — only people you share a link with can hear it. We never publish your answers or your child’s name, and you can delete your lullaby and account at any time.
